Been trying to find out a bit more about my M2
Apart from the fairly unique Decal on the top tube I cannot find a serial number in any of the obvious places.
From what I can gather it is one of the first Sworks bikes but has been upgraded with newer kit over the years.
It had a Direct drive fork on it when i got it and the current front end will be reverting to a period spesh suspension fork, stem and flat bars in the near future.
Anyone shed any light?
Cheers

Looks nice, what is the current spec? I can't imagine much of the stuff I can make out being replacement stuff though. The 8 speed LX stuff I would guess to be original maybe, although was LX 8 speed in 93?

What rims are you running there?

The brakes are Dx Vs and the rear mech is an XT M739

The wheels are Ritchey Rock 395E strung on LX hubs

Skewers are allen key release . Headset is a 1" Ahead instead of threaded. art stem and riser bars. Seatpost and fizik saddle. Seatpost clamp. Front mech, BB, Cranks, wheels are original. Will dig some more on the 8 speed issue.

Cheers

Just had a look on the german catalogue site and although the 93 catalogue is only half clear it would seem thet the Sworks bikes had options of LX Plus, XCpro, or XTR groupsets. couldny say what they comprised of though - thats one of the bits thats missing!!!

HarryBurgundy has a nice post if it's the right size for sale, and there are some LX nos black canti's on the 'bay at the mo!!

I have a 1995 StumpJumper FSR, and it is listed as having the black LX stuff, but with crappy dia compe levers, grip shift, and M737 rear mech!

I might even be interested in the Red V's if there is a full set!

Sorry for all the posts but i keep thinking of more stuff. Could this be a 1994 model year but made in 1993? The groupo, 8 speed, yellow decals etc are very 1994 imo :?:

Have a look at ameybrooks in the gallery and the red and yellow is good for 92 as well. I got the cantis in a box somewhere! the guy I got it off had them as well!
