1995 Marin Team FRS...Finished!

All set up work finished. The reason the brakes were proving difficult was that the bolts were to long and tightening against the canti stud rather than the spring arrangement. Reasonably easy to set up once that was sorted.

Rear wheel is now dished correctly.

Gil has been in touch and I should have a proof for the decals by tonight.

Test ride showed front fork was rock solid with a pleasing amount of movement in the rear.

Stripped front fork and cleaned and regreased everything. Elastomers were rock hard though. Replaced all elastomers with some Pace ones I had in... Very, very similar and if I were a gambling man, I'd stake that Pace may have stripped a set of Mani's to crib on the post RC35 elastomer forks (MXC's etc...). Probably lost 5mm in travel but I can live with that.

Anyway, all back together now with plenty of bounce at the front!

Anyone got a tidy set of Marin bar ends in silver or the correct Titec seatpost?

Will post pictures when decalled up...

nice - if I were designing a bike with rear suspension, that is how #I woujld do it ... noit saying it is the best way, just how I'd do it.

them welds are well chunky, if it were my bike, I would smooth them down a bit as it spolis the lines a bit but hell, who is goona see anyway??

TBH I've lost patience & interest with mine after its turned into a bit of a triggers broom :/

I forgot it was a Ti... stick it in the loft for a year or so and i might be able to afford that!! :D :D :D

Any pics of it in pieces? 8)

nahh i reckon my patience has failed with it so it's for the chop. pics will be done when i get round to selling it.

:)

Loving the attention to detail on this one Rich. Those canti's are just right and the repair first class..

I have seen the pictures of the state it arrived..Also had a small hand in outing it to you :).

If its anything like my Manitou HT (distant relations) should ride like a dream 8)

Nick

Pardon my manners... I should have given you a namecheck long ago on the outing of this...

Rides great mate... we'll have to get the two of them together!

Nice Marin you got there

I bought me yesterday on ebay.de a Marin Indian Fire Trail only the frame set from 1993 in the color polished alloy with bleu parts.
And have at home a Marin Nail Trail 1994 with stx se parts on it.
Is not that i like only mongoose bike`s but also marin bike`s are nice to have

Here we go... decalled up and the correct colour rear legs procured. These were a bit of a pain as the stanchions were shorter in the replacements, so both sets had to be stripped and swopped over...

As ever stunning service from Gil_m on here with the decals - accept no substitute!

Very pleased with final result!
