1994 Dynatech Diablo STX. DONE (More or less..)FINAL PICS

Re:

Colour looks like Rover, kingfisher blue ....

sorry for that

if you are struggling there's a place in Farnworth i use to mix paint into aerosols. They colour matched my Rockhopper from a colour swatch and mixed it there and then.

Re the polishing, i found when polishing the Sugino chainset for my Kona i had to have the dremel at just the right speed... to fast/slow and it wont bring the shine ...has to be just right.... stick at it its worth it.

Re: 1994 Dynatech Diablo STX. FINISHED. (More or less..)

Ha :-) I got a fairly close match with a Vauxhall colour but decided to hold off till I can find an exact match. What's the place in Farnworth called?
Hmm, I'll experiment with the Dremel, see what happens.
Cheers for the advice :-)

Paint supplier is Kemtech

You'll need to take along your frame or forks or whatever you want to colour match and they'll do it while you wait.
Large aerosols are just over a tenner inc VAT. If you want to do chips n scratches etc you can spray the aerosol into the lid and use it as a touch up ... using a fine brush obviously

Right then, I've indexed the gears, sorted the brakes, tightened up the spokes and checked everything, and had a very quick spin. After an all too brief whizz ( to keep the tyres looking new until next Sunday) I can say that this is a LOVELY little bike. Really light on it's feet and responsive. I love it. I don't know how it will handle the rough stuff yet, and may do a further post after taking it off road, but for now, short of a chainstay protector ( looking for an NOS or close XT Sharkfin for it ) I am calling the bike done.
As you can see I went for the 91-92 look on this 94 machine simply because it was less work/expensive to do.

As I have said before I'll probably eventually put a shorter stem and even some slightly wider risers on for comfy all day pootling, but you can tell when you get on her that she's a racer :-)
Lovely. Very happy.

Re:

Great job on the build. There are NOS Sharkfins coming up on e-bay all the time, often for less than twenty US dollars (plus shipping)
