1994/5? Litespeed Ocoee/Obed Update

Skimmed the catalogues. The only bikes I can see with similar top tube cable guides and cables along the top of the seat stay is the 1994 (and poss 1995) Obed. I'd guess it was one of these (if it is indeed a Litsespeed). Doesn't explain the lack of rear stop for the brake, can you see where one migh have been removed or attached?

No rear canti stop.

The decal marks showing Litespeed on the down tube were old.

Those aluminium type cable stops on the top tube suggest it is Ocoee, not Obed.

16-11

New shots with (I think) better decals.

Ready for build!

:) Sorry to revive an old thread, my frame appears simular, it has the snake stays.

Could I please confirm the seatpost size for this, states 27.2, but that does not appear to fit.

Passiflora :)

Hi. Not got the frame anymore. But I do have the Ritchey seatpost, so I'll vernier it tonight. 27.2mm sounds right, but I'll check for you.

The easiest way to determine year model, is to messure frame size and head tube height. Then, just look for that sizes in year per year cataloges (extensivly avialable for free if Googleing). (Discarding of course evident non-similar models).

Had a 97 Obed and the numbers on the catalog were entirely different from the actual bike.

They (Litespeed) had a very particular way to size their frames, specialy in the top tube size.

But belive me, the sizes statements in catalogs are correct.

Many 2nd hand owners have a wrong idea about what model/year bike they have. This is because is very common in Vintage bikes market re-sellers "restaures" their stuff with wrong decals and to provide wrong info to their buyers.

Sizes in catalogs are ok. If not, it would be a fabriction defect most than other thing, and if you are the original buyer, you have a lifetime waranty on your frame, and can ask for a reposition.

If you agree, post here some photos and I'll be glad to help you.

Wheelbase on my 97 obed, w/ the RS Judy provided by litespeed, was 42in while catalog states 41in. One inch is a lot. I wanted a short wheelbase bike.
