Gorgeous!

I've got a 94 EG heading my way as we speak!

Have you finished with the nail varnish? Could you send it up here - or do you need it for "a night in"

Re: 1993 MARIN Eldridge Grade project

Must admit when i looked at the pic yesterday I didn't like the spoke count, the compact bcd of the crank and the amberwalls... But looking at it this morning with fresh eyes I think it is really quite nice as it was never supposed to be a resto but more of a conduit to experience former pleasures...

The most fun of all my bikes is my 94 Pine Mtn and that's got nothing that was OEM fitted.

Hats off to you bud, I bet it'll fly when it's all finished

Rich

Re: 1993 MARIN Eldridge Grade project

Couldn't have put it better Rich. I could simply have built another perfect OEM dry weather/garage queen with half worn old 7 speed DX, but this one is all about recreating the feel of my first race bike back in 1993 and that means everything has to feel as sharp and tight as it did then. Another important factor is that I want to ride this bike flat out in all weathers without the worry that I might ruin it - if I crash it, tough! Can't wait to thrash it now! Rich, just one other thing, spoke count is usual 32 front and rear.

Looks good bro. Tidy.

Ready for some action :) The red against the grey looks nice, there wasn't a bad looking bike in that years catalogue 8) I remember looking at them in the shop, great days.

Re: 1993 MARIN Eldridge Grade project

At last, its finally warm and sunny enough for the first ride. Rode about 14 miles and nothing fell off or broke. Beautiful smooth ride and feels like a new bike, but on the wrough, I miss front suspension forks - how did we manage to race these 20 years ago??
