1993 KHS Montana Pro, virtually catalogue spec :D

You know I said I thought I was finished with this build...

I lied

Just sourced some OE XT brakes, OE XT BB & OE cassette 8)

The brakes just looked lovely, I know I said the Alivio ones looked nicer, I've changed my mind

Very nice work :)

The KHS Always reviewed well back in the day and are very very underated :)

:D
Cheers!

They are very underrated frames/bikes, the handling is superb, the quality is very good and the weight is light without being silly light and compromising strength, you can throw this bike around and it just comes back for more!

Updated my 1st post with the current build spec and pics for those not wanting to read all of the build thread!

Your front room looks more like a bike shop than the bike shop does
It looks worse at the mo than in the pics in this thread

Really must have a good sort out and sell some of the stuff I've accumulated over the last year or so!

I am very impressed; I have a special love for KHS since it was the very first so called "Mountain Bike" that I purchased complete from a LBS in 1993...the very same Montana Pro. Everything else up until that time was a clunker that I rehab'd and had custom built by guys who were "mountain biking" way before the term was officially included in Merriam-Webster. Nice work. :)

Another step nearer to the catalogue!

I have found a set of OE XT M730 & XT M732 hubs with the OE Bontrager BCX 1 & BCX 2 rims laced onto them

And I have been given a pair of the OE M737 SPD pedals too :D
