Just bought a 92 Bravado on eBay.

Can someone help me out?

Frame is made of True Temper GTX Ultra III same as the 92 Psyclone.

What are the differences in these frames?

Is the only difference the Psyclone is brazed instead of welded?

Are the geometry's the same?

I know othing really if true temper how does the frame compare to equivalent tange and Reynolds frames?

Cheers.

Tony

If you look at the Techshop brochure in the catalogues section for 92 it has the measurement for Pscyclone.

I have True Temper on my 1992 Avalanche, all I know is it's amazingly light for a steel frame.

Thanks MadJez,

Which frames had the groove tube? Was it only the Psyclone, Avalanche and Bravado?

I have not recieved the bike yet, mostly original except cassette, Chain and cables.

Just hoping it's not a lower end model and I've been duped Zaskar style.

Thanks.

Re:

Quite a few frames had the groove tube, so it's not a unique identifier. I had a karakoram with one, I think it was true temper OX II tubing, and wasn't that light. Lovely paint job though.

Re:

Iv'e just seen the one you have one on ebay and have to say its difficult to tell from the one photograph in the listing but you can certainly tell its had a respray as the decals aren't the correct size.

Yeah the seller said he had it powder coated quite recently and new decals added. Probably cheap eBay decals and not decent ones from Gil.

He said it is original except cables cassette and chain (and powder coat/decals)!

I've asked for some more pics. I'm guessing if all the components match up it will most likely be a Bravado.

Does anyone know a detailed specs list? I can't make out the component list from the catalogue.

Cheers

Bikepedia only goes back as far as 93. That year it would have been a XT groupset and either rigid or with a Mag 21. I'm not sure about 92. I'll look around a little more.

Not a Bravado expert but you can see the groove tube and a U-brake (should be XT), I'd say if you buy it the removable derraillieur hanger would be the big giveaway. That will tell you it's high end. Forks should be GT 3d (easy to spot). From the catalogue looks like the brake levers are XT as per Avalanche. Someone else might be able to help on frame numbers etc.

Given the number of bikes/frames this guy sells why such a crap photo of this one ?? Maybe it's a later one painted the classic yellow ??
