Has anyone built a Gravel bike using a retro frame

Depending on pull ratio you can adjust arm length on front mech by cable route filing or in this case drilling a new cable hole. In the end I had too many gears I didn’t use so have gone to 2 by 8 the 3 Lh brifter is now set to low trim and high using the original cable routing for the lx mech

Above pic was from the auction turns out its a 1996 Point Reyes ( identified in the other group) I managed to get it riding from spare bits in stock. Very nice ride very much a scaled up 1996 mountain bike or a flat bar 2022 gravel bike with a better range of gears. I had to lose the grip...

Having been riding a prst1 and prst4 for a few years now. I find I prefer the prst1 I putting this down to how worn the shocks are. At some point I will swap the shocks just to see as the only othermain difference seems to be the rear linkage? Anyone else find this? Absolutely great cross...

Claud butler cordon bleu and twin tube

Completely forgot about that post, a deal was done it rides well I have to be careful cornering as toe front wheel/ mud guard overlap is a bit close. It does climb well. I used period components which I think hides some of the frames potential.

wearing team jerseys- retro cool vrs all the gear no idea vrs just a bit naff

I have seen some reproduction team jerseys from the 90's that standout a a really nice colorful designs. I like to go for bright colours when riding around on the road so driver's see me I don't go for the stealth black look as to me as a car driver also think its just plain dangerous. What's...

Technicycle Daniel Hanart Broggio any love knowledge, 1" headsets....

Well spotted yes it does appear to be a race number tag takes a 5mm screw by the looks of it. I suspect it was a custom build. I am not sure if the forks are original or an update for steel or aluminium. The builder has a web site that shows his work and history. He made Jeannie Longo's hour...

    Badged Trek or Gary Fisher

I just saved a 95 Gary Fisher from recycling, which has got me thinking when is a Gary fisher classed as having had the man's input and when is it just a badged generic bike? I have a 97/98 set up as a pub bike and it rides really well.

Is this Holdsworth special or ok to hack

Re: It is definitely getting a repaint as white and rust oily rag does not really do it for me. I have an oily rag 30's bike that ticks that box. This will get Shimano 605 brifters 42mm tyres and compact gearing. I am trying to work out if drilling holes for rivnuts is a bad thing to do...
