Saw a very nice Pinarello Treviso and a Eddy Merckx for sale locally - grainy photos but looked interesting - he was looking to sell them as a lot so I asked for his best price and a deal was done (unseen) at £320 - he said there were a couple of projects which he would throw in. So I go to collect them and find a cracking 1995 Treviso in Columbus GPX and a 1985 EM aerodynamic with full Campag Super Record - the projects turned out to be a 1982 Scapin Airone and at first glance looked like a 70's Claud Butler but turned out to be a 70's French randonneur. In my defence I did offer him more money but he steadfastly refused as he said "a deal is a deal" So all in all I'm really chuffed - just need to change both the big chainrings as they're only 47 / 48.
