Innovations that weren't...

Mountain biking. Victor Vincente of America was there when it all started, even before the repack guys. Didn't really think the new fangled 26ers would take off.
He's in thehall of fame:

This link explains why he chose oddball wheel sizes

Here's a stunning example that still gets used

Love this story. I put the Topanga in the folder thread, because small wheels.

Ahhh the canti rocker.
Got rid of everything that was wrong with a straddle hanger,
And replaced it with something offering greater complexity and Friction.

Great!
But that's a Force 40+, so called because it forces you to swear 40+ times when you're setting it up!
Actually the one example of a brake rocker that once set up properly makes a difference. It's all in the cam. Which the others don't have and I agree are pointless. 👍 😁

That's a good entry, trying to solve the odd bikes with odd frame tube setups some had, noodles, cables, or Suspension then just use a rocker.

Superseded by V-Brake styles.
Suntour had a go too.

I have a Pace rocker somewhere. I can't remember why i got it , but it looks cool and i like the fact that each arm takes a barrel. Maybe that is why i got it and although i have never broken a stainless brake cable the straddle cable wouldn't send me over the bars, if i did. Will i use it....dunno!?!
