I have one of these and it came up very well after doing just this. I would recommend not bothering with a relaquer. Mine had loads of rust around the bottom bracket which all came right off using crumpled foil and lemon juice from memory. They're very nice frames!

He told me his local dump, but also that he'd been back today and didn't see them sadly..

Bit of a thread resurrection, but does anyone know anything about the rigid forks that came with these? Were they 410mm a to c like Konas or were these frames designed for shorter standard spinner type forks?

Nice to see it up and running - a bit of a Trigger's broom until you've established a theme! I like that you put modern gears and tyres on like a rider though - 2 extra cogs never upset the retro ethos imo. I can't decide why the P2s look so wrong, are they bent?

Re: Thanks, I thought it went under the radar a bit.. I've spent loads of time with it now & I really think these frames were gems - it's probably the same as the Protrax, and as someone else mentioned that was full Tange DB for 97. I have to say the Charge Splashbacks are more show than go...

Re: I'll be interested to hear how it rides one way or another.. How heavy did it feel stripped down? There's another modern/retro build on here somewhere of one of these that looks really nice.

Re: Nice to see you're cracking on! Mine's been sitting a year or so. Are those 410mm P2s? I think the shorter ones would be better suited to the geometry, but then there's a school of thought that it makes no difference.. Also, is it me or does the rake look massive? I'm in favour of...
