    Older seat bolt size query

Sorry, I missed this post somehow. In that photo (from the original seller), the bolt is just not screwed in at all, so it did fit fine. The frameset is from a mystery maker, here's the build thread for it. I did contact JF Wilson when I first got it, but it's not one of theirs - for one thing...

    Older seat bolt size query

Mine turned out to need an M7, too. I had to get a fancy titanium one - it seems M7 bolts are common in motorsports, but not bikes. Anyway, it does the job.

    Feature Films Featuring Bicycles!

Napoleon Dynamite (2004). A classic with a few notable bike scenes. Napoleon's is apparently a Huffy Omni, Pedro's is branded as a 'Sledgehammer', although exactly what horrible thing it is, I don't know.

    It's pronounced "Fah-jean"...

I was reliably informed that in Italian a C on its own is a soft-c 'ch' sound (hence Cinelli is 'Chinelli'), whereas a 'ch' is more of a hard-c 'k' sound (hence Bianchi is 'Bianki'). Mind you, a C followed by an I might be different, again. Luckily I don't own any Italian bikes so it's not my...

    My bikes.

It looks to be 100% original catalogue spec, I think? Really lovely.

    It's pronounced "Fah-jean"...

Yeah, you can take these things too far 😄 . If we pronounced every non-English word the way native speakers did, I think we'd all end up sounding quite odd. One of the commentators for TV cycling coverage here pronounces every rider and place name as per their native language, and whilst it's...

That's your bad weather bike? I hope your bad weather isn't as bad as my bad weather  Lovely thing, anyway.

    need help identifying this Concorde

If it is a Concorde, it’s not got the original fork, it should have a pantographed fork crown. Putting a Bianchi head badge on (not even centrally) to hide a mark is not exactly great. I’d avoid if I were you. Not exactly cheap, either.

Certainly is. I’d not done that climb for a while, it’s as tough as I remember it being. It’s worth it for the view, though.

For Sale 1993 MB Dronfield Frameset. Reynolds 531 Competition Tubes 23.5” £75 + postage.

Stop it now 😆. I have seen this but I was surprisingly sensible and have passed on it, despite the obvious temptation.

Yes indeed, they have been shortened (not by me, that’s how they were when I got them. They’ve also been drilled for internal brake cabling).

Thanks. The levers are 'Prostar' branded, which have been cut down and drilled. So nothing fancy, but originally chosen because they're pretty light, I suppose.

Here's my 1983 Alan Richards (Tower Cycles). I originally built it up from a frame over various lockdowns – the thread for that is here. Among other notable features are a headbadge I had to custom design (with a bit of guess work required), and some brake levers which were once used by a...
