    Names you don't see

I blame Cy at Cotic... the Cotic stuff has all the appeal of retro but all the functionality of modern... It's why I've become a somewhat irregular vistor. And you can quote me on that.

Tescos scrap 24 bikes worth £4000.....

There'd be so much work involved getting serviceable bikes out of them that it would take a damn good mechanic ages to get them even half worthwhile - and then they'd still be crap.... But it is pretty insensitive of them.

    Is your collection complete ?

Am pretty much done - which is why I don't visit so often - that, and being up to my neck and eyeballs with owning my own bike shop.... Mavic triplets.... (Alan CX with Indexed Mavic Starfish gen, Brouwer "Gilco" profiled frame with early Mavic SSC and Look Mi80 with Mavic MTB kit) Pace ...

    Dave Yates Vulcan---Built.

Just noticed it's all road bits except the triple chainset. How is the front mech coping with the oval triple rings? No rubbing? Seen others had to go this way as the triple Mavic mechs are so scarce.... so assuming it must work to some degree... Never had to try it out for myself as a front...

Braze on front mech help.( Sachs Quarz )

There was actually a purpose-designed Sachs band for them. Idea was that they could make just one mech and you bought the right size band for it.... but then they messed up the concept by doing a reverse pull front mech. You need to check that you don't have one of these - in which case you will...

    X-Lite-XLR-Angelo-Stem

They are too overbuilt for Pace square tubing. Never seen one on a Pace that looked right.

Wow... one of the few things I've been impressed by of late. So how long did it take to get the parts? Took 6 years to finish my Mavic MTB build....

The *NOT BORING!* Hi-Fi faff chat and sales

A chap also sent me this link to a supplier for tweeters... http://www.hoejttalerbutikken.dk/produk ... -peerless/ And said he'd fitted some with no crossover alterations and that they just clipped into the mounts.... A bit sceptical as they are 8 ohm not 4, but he says they sound the same as...

    Recycle bicycle frames, parts...

I used to give old bent rims to a girl who used to make coffee tables out of them. Don't ask me how... I never saw a finished product. I've also had old gents come in asking for old hubs and wheels to power Heath-Robinson type windmill-powered inventions using inner tubes as drive belts...

The *NOT BORING!* Hi-Fi faff chat and sales

Is it just me or did CD players peak around 2006 and has sort of stayed pretty static since then? I have a DENON 3900 and a 3930 and they sound really sweet - even compared to my Cambridge Audio 751.... Oh and while I have the cheese.... Those Mission 753s you blew the tweeters on... have you...

HELP! Old Hope technology BB removal tool

I bought one of the tools from Rampage and it's better than the original tool and better then the one Royce are offering (that will also work) Happy to lend mine out for postage costs -but they are likely to be quite high unfortunately. Let me know via PM or via my shop...

    Columbus SPX... any opinions?

I've got an SPX-tubed track bike - built by Banani of Copenhagen and AFAIK pretty much the same specs as the Six-Days frame he built for Danny Clark. I'm only a little lad of 1m72 and 75kg and it is STIFF.... In terms of comfort and weight it's like a Columbus Gara bike. Can imagine it would...
