I also have a Superbe Pro bottom bracket spindle with the correct taper for these cranks to fit a 68mm shell - 109.5mm length according to my calipers. No cups or bearings to go with it though. £20 plus delivery.
Annoyingly, one of the fixing nuts for the fork clamps has gone missing sometime in the last 30 years but I eventually found a brass one that fits.
All the welds look sound but there is a bit of wear and tear as you would expect given it's age and usage BITD.

That seems like a good solution. It has the stop notch for the Simplex mech which a Campagnolo-style dropout doesn't have. I'd still worry about the 9mm bolt shoulder potentially rocking in the 10mm threaded hole and knackering the threads though.
My wife's old Gitane had that type of Simplex rear mech and the frame had the special hanger to match. Made it impossible to upgrade the mech.
I never tried putting the Simplex on a standard hanger but it seems a bad idea to me. They're not designed for each other and if you mess up the hanger...
