"Isn't modern bicycle technology absolutely wonderful?"😍

With the malaise that seems to be consuming Boeing at the moment, that’s not the “recommendation” it once might have been. It’s always easier to maintain tight tolerance specifications when your making a (relatively small) number of things (thousands) rather than properly mass production...

    Cracked windscreen

The windscreen is bonded into the car body. When you drive the body flex’s - not much, but enough that it will extend a crack if the original “chip” reaches the edge of the screen. Had one on one of my cars, started as less than a inch, but a couple of drives and it was happily spreading its...

    Time Xpresso 2 pedals?

Have higher spec ones on my good (road) bike, and those ones on my turbo/zwift bike. Have been boringly reliable, they just seem to work. Cant compare them to other systems as I’ve not used them.

Anyone in or around Pickering / Thornton-le-Dale? Want to make some money?

Think there asking for someone to pick up a bike, box it, and post it on to them, for which they will cover the costs, and a bit extra for time taken.

So called big collectors belittling smaller.

Have to say, that Retrobike is refreshingly free of Farbies . Yes we all have differences of opinion on what we each prefer, personally a catalogue build is not for me, but I respect the effort and attention to detail that they require - that bar the saddle, I’ve ended up with building one is...

    Kona AA - something different...

Ref setting up the curve cantis, not too bad really, use a spanner to hold the collar at the right spring tension, and tighten bolt with Allen key. Adjust if needed to balance. Ref boosters, I’ve never felt the need for them, and didn’t have them on my AA, which was running V’s, rather than...

State of the industry: a running thread

Nah, I’ll still be here, though I don’t have a plastic tribike nor power meter, but I do have a Strava, if that helps. 🙂

Should I buy yet another vintage Kona?!

Posted this a few days ago on another thread..
