Pearson Cycles Dave Yates Columbus Cromor 1989 frame and fork (confirmed by the man himself) Facebook marketplace rescue

Retro Newbie
Well where do I start with this one? By getting back on here but I couldn’t remember my old account so I’ll start a new one then.
So there I am looking on Facebook marketplace and I spot this for 50 quid, it’s a no brainer turbo saddle and xt I’m having it and probably splitting it. IMG_2116.webp
So out goes the message I’ll be over tomorrow to get it.
So I start looking a bit closer and I see a flash of colour on the hubs and I think this is something special here and I start to look for other Pearson mountain bikes but all I found where road bikes and this is when I found out about the history of Pearson Cycles and that from 85-95 they bought from Dave Yates workshop. After getting it home and posting a couple of pictures on facebook Dave himself confirmed it is indeed one of his frames and that he didn’t make vary may at all for person and the frame was invoiced 04/05/89.
Now as for the build it was pretty much m730xt apart from Mavic Paris Gao Dakar hubs with matching rims. Boy did I hit gold here.
And this thing has hardly any miles on it
I’ve changed the tyres from a smoke lite and dart to Terra One Riders, popped on some terra one grips and piped on a set of M730xt pedals and that’s pretty much how it’s staying, after a sympathet IMG_2350.webp ic polish. IMG_2345.webp
