"the best one thus far is a external water nozzle that one can spray the outside of the hub."

My mate and I did this with our 80cc two-stroke motorbikes when trying to ride them long-distance. Well, a bucket of water over the cylinder -- resulting in immediate warping of the aluminium cylinder heads and a chugging, wheezing journey home.

From the organizer of the coaster brake challenge where that bike was a competitor:

"We have been exploring the many ways to keep one's hub cool. With grease, and with cooling fins etc. the best one thus far is a external water nozzle that one can spray the outside of the hub."

Mate who is nearly 2m tall and weighs 130kg did the Goni Pony run in Slovenia on his old Mifa and we did this to prevent his Renak coaster brake from vaporizing on the way down.
