Bike you've let go, but wish you'd kept?....

My 1993 ish Muddy fox alu sport in anodised purple, with stx groupset, Fred salmon stem and bar ends, in hindsight the only thing I'd change is the mfx 700 forks for something a bit (lot better quality) first half decent bike i owned, swapped it for a kirk revolution

The first decent mountain bike I owned, a nice Claud Butler that my uncle bought new and gave to me a couple of years later when he upgraded. I tried to buy it back after failing to find something I liked as much for the little money I had but he they wouldn't sell it to me, I learned from that.

My San Andreas that I sold to a member on here but he did an amazing job doing it up and I wouldn't have spent so much on it at the time. It was a great bit of kit but if I'd have kept it then I probably wouldn't own the Titanium bike I now own (alwasy wanted a Ti frame, finally got around to it).

Mine wasnt expensive or even fancy, it was a 1994 Diamond Back Sorrento in black and Purple exactly like this one (Not my pic).
It was mint and I stupidly lent it to my brother in law around 2002 who duly wrecked it.

I loved that colour combination and have wondered a few times if I could get my Black 91 Lava Dome painted like this 🤔

Not sure if this "fits" here but as I road it like a mountain bike, I feel it does fit here....

I made the mistake of selling an '89 Fisher Hybrid back in '94 and have been on the hunt for one ever since. I have seen one other show up for sale in western Canada in the past twenty years and it sold before I could get an offer in on it.

At the time I owned it, I used it for cycle-cross and jamming single-track and commuting around Edmonton, AB.

IMHO, it was way ahead of its time (forerunner of the modern Gravel Bike???).

It rode like a mountain bike way more than a road bike of that era. It was actually designed and built to handle single track (again not like the hybrids that would then come in the '90s that were basically city bikes).
It could handle smaller drop-offs, mild jumps and climb like a beast.

I replaced the 700c Araya rims with Mavic MA40s the first month I had it. Swapped out the bars for a pair of WTB flared drop-bars.

Anyone else ever ride/own one of these oddballs?

‘97 Kona AA. Delivered by the fat man himself that Christmas. Broke it down and sold it to part fund a ‘98 LTS 1000.

Still have the LTS. Been an amazing bike.. but deeply regret the AA. Hangs head.

I’ve managed to rebuild two of my from-new bikes (a ‘91 Kara and a ‘95 Pine Mountain)… but in 16 years on RB, I have never been able to source a mint 18” AA.

Here are the other three..
