For want of something better to do (or to avoid gardening duties ;) ), I dug out this frame I bought a while back and looked around my workshop to see what fits..

I reckon this could look sweet once sandblasted and polished raw aluminium. I have some Hope wheels which are surplus to requirements atm, titec riser bars.
I also have a full 1990 Deore group that could go on? Not sure..
Will get this down the sand blasters tomorrow and start putting it together when it comes back, strictly parts bin build coming up!

Food for thought..

Slight change of plan on this bike, it was only £30 more to get it coated in the correct colour - so I did that rather than bare metal.
When it came back I decided to build it up with a Deore groupset which came off a bike I broke for parts. Didn’t realise that the rear wheel spacing was 130mm on this - that ruled out the Hope wheelset I have but these LX ones actually suit it I reckon (and match the groupset), I cut the axle -5mm and adjusted the spacing.
Went with a Brooks saddle and leather grips to match, titec riser bars, it’s soo comfy to ride..

Future plans involve a front mounted rack to make this my grocery/skateboard transporter.

Nice, I do like the rear u versions, I have an XL sm400 frame with some xcm bits on it, when I get around to it I want to do something similar... Like a t1000 style in the nice dark met green colour with 26" wheels and twin racks

Cool job.
but why that horrible downtube decal instead original ?
you can fix them on vintagecannondale…

Cheers, yeah I contacted Gil at retrodecals and he can only do them in white not the correct yellow. The ones on there I already had - they aren’t lacquered over so will come off easy enough.
I’ll check out vintage cannondale like you suggest - cheers for the advice.

@24pouces, cheers again for the advice - correct stickers ordered just now, also not available in yellow - so went with pink, should look rad against the baby blue paint.
:)

Still waiting on the stickers but I’ve added fat whitewall tyres and toe clips with brown leather straps to add to the cruiser vibe..

Great work! Turned out really nice. So clean! I really like the leather toe straps that match the seat and grips. Tires look great too. Can't wait to see it with the new decals :).

Stickers arrived! I will strip it down again to lacquer over them before long but I’m happy to call this (nearly) finished. Just a front rack to make when some decent steel turns up.
