I always liked the Kona Explosif, and by 96' it was well refined, so that's what I might have chosen.

In 1996 I wanted an LTS.

Either a GT LTS or a Foes LTS, so long as it was an LTS.

I ended up with the GT in 1997 and eventually scored the Foes in 2013.

I didn't have the coin then but if I could go back, certainly a GT LTS-Team, no better all rounder at the time.
I was mostly racing downhill then though, so the alternative would be an LTS-DH frameset. 'Boomerang' at the start of '96, trunnion shock model at the end of the year.

Pace aren't in the equation due to personal reasons. Wouldn't touch one with a barge pole even though back in 96 I would have liked one.
