Linns are way overpriced. Just about any good Japanese deck from the last 40 years will be good - as above with a new cartridge.

I'd agree with that I've had a Rega for years, but my old Pioneer PL512 is a good deck too - was my first quality deck a lifetime ago !

I now have a Linn but only because I was lucky on Ebay around 15 years ago and got it for a quarter of the going rate at the time. It is good though, and Glaswegian, as its one of the earlier ones

As said before - Thorens/Rega/Project and I also have a hankering for Acoustic Research.
Plusd there's another made in Ayrshire I think.....name escapes me........hang on a few moments whilst I google........Systemdek that's it....
