I was on about a simple comparison without considering fancy punture proof tubs. For me they puncture less that clinchers.
Why?? Dunno.
Blowouts. Some punctures just go BANG. That can blow the tyre off the rim. Done it 3 time , in 35 years. Luckily only once on the road and that was the rear one mentioned. Its shredded the tube. I suppose the odds are in my favour but perhaps I worry too much!
To me tubs are just nicer, a bit like a classy steel frame being nicer than some lump of carbon.
