Trek 900 lugged or not?

I’m looking for a nice trek 900

I believe the 900 series was better than the 800?

But are there any advantages/ disadvantages between the lugged frames and the non lugged?

900 better than 800, yes. Go for non lugged.

I have a 1990 950. It is lugged with true tremper tubing. Later 900s were welded. The 800 is more touring orientated and has lower spec.

Treks were easy to classify in the 90's. The higher the number, the better the bike. Usually 800s would share the frame and differ on the components or fork, and the same was for the 900's.

I would go for the lugged ones because they offer something different. In terms of performance or weight there's hardly a difference to the latter TIG models...
