STX RC v brakes question

Just got a set of these (front and rear) for a GT Avalanche LE build. The brakes are coded WA (Jan 199:cool: so just outside the scope of this forum. Forgive me please. Big (dumb) question. Why don't these v- brakes have the long spring like all other vees I've come across? They do have the little tensioning screw though.

Perhaps they are missing? Some V's have round springs like in canti's

Thanks, they're not missing because there are no retaining pegs for the long spring. I didn't know that some vees have/had springs like cantis so I live & learn. Cheers buddy :)

I have two sets of such brakes. I am very pleased with them. They have a spring hidden from external influences. This design - because for these brakes need pads without threads, such as in cantilevers.
