Stuck seat post problem

I had the same issue. post clamped in a machine chuck / big vice, blow lamp on the seat tube and squirt WD (the heat draws it in, weird to watch) then a bit of elbow twisting action. scratched the post a bit but frame unmarked, which was more important!

Wouldn't a blow lamp damage the paint?

What paint? But yes, it would.

I'd try freeze spray on the seat post as the next approach.

With some Plus Gas sprayed up the seat tube if you can.

Ive done it and not if you are careful. The metal, and there is quite a fair chunk of it, absorbs the heat. You play the flame over the area and it slowing heats up. You can get to well over 100 c without any damage to paint.

That sort of temperature will probably crack the anodising assuming it's anodised.
