Sticking it to the man^H^H^Hframe

So, I need a way to make my old, removed and now no longer sticky, stickers - umm - stick again.

any ideas?

I've seen spray adhesive suggested, as well as fabric glue.

You could try using double sided tape if you really wanted to reuse the decals but i'd get them replaced unless they are in really good condition ..

Re:

Place 'helicopter tape' over them then re-stick on to frame or commission reproductions from Gil or whoever...

Can't you just get some new ones from Gil?

That is your best bet ^^ especially as they're off the frame you could scan them in and email an image over for him to work with if he doesn't have the art work on file. Abit of touch up and you'd have as good as NOS

You could also try double sided carpet tape that stuff is super strong and as sticky as hell

OK. Let's assume that:

- For the stickers which are damaged and viable to replace, I have replacements
- The stickers I wish to reattach are not financially viable to replace (requiring a very specialised 5+ colour printing process and / or doming)
- Even if it were financially viable to have replacements made, doing so would probably result in the loss of one or both testicles due to spending more money on "that bloody bike"

Tape's a bloody awful solution.

Re:

Since when has this hobby ever been "financially viable"??

Imo your best bet is helicopter tape over the top of the old stickers, I've used this method before and it doesn't look too bad.

Or bite the bullet and get some copies of the stickers made.

What stickers are they anyway??!

There's a few in the Sunn '99 sticker sets. The domed crossbar "comp" stickers, for starters - metallic gold with doming. Then there's the downtube base protector and seat tube model logo, both of which have metallic, plus some rather subtle highlights done with matt, satin and high gloss black.

Given that vinyl stickers originally have a layer of contact adhesive, and contact adhesive in itself isn't exactly rocket surgery. Need to find one that won't eat the stickers, though. 3M have a pretty huge range
