1998 Kilauea 18" frame. Reynolds 631. No dings/dents, but trail scratches, and fading. Seat clamp included. Weighs 2135g including seat clamp and headset cups. £110 ppg. SOLD

Also, 1 1/8" ahead P2 DB forks to fit. 180mm steerer. A/C 410mm. Again trail scrapes, but no damage. £40 ppg SOLD.

Ideal strip and paint project if you want a mint Kila, in the best version IMO. Or just ride.

Re: 1998 Kona Kilauea 631 18" Frame/P2 fork

Top frame and I'd be all over this if it were bigger. This and the Explosif of that year were the last decent steel frames of the era that Kona sold. I'd defo not re-paint - it's a cracking yellow colour :) GLWTS.

Re: 1998 Kona Kilauea 631 18" Frame/P2 fork

I've had both the 98 Kila and 98 and 99 Explosif. As you say very decent steel frames. If anything the 631 is a better all round rider than the 853 Explosif.

When I say repaint, I mean in the same Munificent Mustard colour of course ;-).

Re:

Would the P2's be right for about this era, or are they older do you think? What is the axle to crown measurement on them....? Thanks!

Re: 1998 Kona Kilauea 631 18" Frame/P2 fork

A/C is 410mm, so correct. P2s were 410mm for a while at this era. I have a pair of 1996 TB P2s, with a short threaded steerer which are 410mm also. This frame would have been fitted with a pair of Black Z3s when new, 80mm.
