Jamie came down for a road ride with me and my son. As you can see, he thought it was great.
The strong silent type we met on the way suggested the drove road.
But then the questioning started. "Are you sure this is a road?" said he, looking at his map.
Admittedly it was a wee bit narrow, so a bit of forestry for light relief.
Even better we got high enough to see an actual road down in the strath. (Any MacKenzies on here can admire the chief's wee hoose in the background.)
Didn't manage to lose him in the stone maze.
Compulsory cake stop in Strathpeffer but no cake lasts long in our company enough to be selfied.
Luckily I knew a good road for the return journey.
For some reason they didn't want to take the shortcut up the wee hill.
And the road got more and more interesting...
You'd think they'd appreciate that tyres last longer if you keep them away from abrasive tarmac. Eco-conscious, I am.
And it's a road ride if you're on a road bike, isn't it?
EDIT: just measured it. There was a whole 6.9 miles of luxurious tarmac, so only 14 odd miles of the other stuff.
