I disassembled a Shimano shifter ST-M39 because the speed indicator didn't work properly. Now I don't how to reassemble it!

Basically I don't know where the spring goes with the metal indicator.
I tried several position but I didn't find a solution.
Does anyone known how to do it?

Cheers

It goes over the black arm pivot to return the pointer.

Or throw the indicator in the trash as it's a pointless piece of junk (I always take the indicators off).

Re:

Finally I replaced everything. Sometime the indicator still doesn't go to one but it's just the indicator. I agree with you, indicators are not necessary. By the way thanks for helping me

You are welcome! :D
If you are determined to fix it, often the spring needs a bit of a bend to make it go all the way.

I used a scrap of some black vinyl sticky back wrap over the windows as I hated them. Actually if done well didnt look out of place.

Over the hole, take the weight saving!!! Little round carbon fibre-effect frame protection patches are nice for the job.
