IIRC that was Charlie's stock colour scheme, again IIRC Charlie's quip was "If it's a Ford you can have any colour you like so long as it's black if it's a frame of mine it's red" I had a track frame which I ordered in late 62 & took delivery in 63 with frame #11 At the time I was not in a hurry as I had to save up & as Charlie was busy it worked out fine,I don't know if the couple of frames he built between my order & starting were #ed before or after my frame My frame was the same colour scheme & I got it £1 & 1 shilling (old money)cheaper as he had the paint in stock Sadly they don't make "em like Charlie any more, he was a gem.
