I bought (well work did) a decent enough starter kit from halfords for £25ish
Granted it`s not "Snap-on" quality kit but its enough to get started with and comes in a nice little case to keep it all in, just replace what you break with better quality stuff.
Oh and grind down the BB removal tool as its ends are rounded and slip out!

CRC with the X-tools stuff works and is cheap, free delivery too.
