Any good? Rubbish? Awesome?

Would have liked to have had one on the peaks ride - always nice to see how the ride was sitting on the sofa etc after the event.

I see theyre quite affordable now - I guess it really depends on the quality playback etc.

Anyone with any experience of them?

Jez, i got one from some guy on stw, it's a ATC 1000, has a internal battery, and uses a memory card. Ive not even used it yet, on account that i forgot i had it til i read this
I might try useing it soon, and i will let you know how it does.

I've done helmet cam footage for a cwmcarn race last yr. I think the company hire the camera out via cwmcarn, do a search :)
picture quality was really good & was smoother footage than I expected (cwmcarn climb as a DH isnt exactly tarmac  must be all that suspension travel ;)

Jez

I was looking for a suitable camcorder for a mate a while back, as he already had the cam/lens for use in his car. I think that may be the older way of doing it, small pencil cam on the helmet, wired to the AV in of your existing camcorder(if ya have one) in ya bakpak.
