Base models are given 'cult' status without any justification - why?
BUT I do think the old 90/91 splatter ones looked pretty cool

I think that the coolest paint job had to be the "Pistachio with yellow spatter" Explosif. I have owned mine for 18 years, still ride it and still love it....(Ahhh !)

I've owned more Kona's than i can rembember, really. I fell in love with the things cos they looked so damn sweet. The simplicity of it, the sloping top-tube and straight forks. If Joe didn't do it first, it was certainly the first in mass production - it's just right! My mtb life has gone Kona/Stumpy/Kona/Sunn/Kona, in little cycles of several bikes. Currently lusting after an M2 again!
