Hartmann RAM '92 [Mavic 316 headset page 4]

Re: Hartmann RAM '92 [Swiss carbon E-stay]

You guys might be right, i'll see how it turns out with these wheels.
Maybe it is to much, maybe it is very wrong but looks right :)
I have wanted these wheels a long time before I bought this bike, because they arre pretty rare and from a Dutch brand.
And now they suddenly popped up on the marketplace, so had to buy them.

Each to their own and it's your bike. I echo above though, the carbon wheels are overkill.

Re: Hartmann RAM '92 [Swiss carbon E-stay]

+1 No No on the carbon wheels, but it would be interesting to see how it looks though.

I love the bike as it is!
Really interesting looking bike.
In my opinion, those new wheels will ruin it. Too much black 'plastic' and especially with that lovely Mavic kit.
I agree…

I just have found in my scan collection, a french article about this bike :D

Re: Hartmann RAM '92 [Swiss carbon E-stay]

Thanks a lot 24p!
I really like it in yellow too, and with the black rims.
The wheels are on their way, so I can show them this week.
If it really is that awfull, I'm going for a normal wheelset :)

Re: Hartmann RAM '92 [Swiss carbon E-stay]

Since you were building a European bike a Pace fork looks also very good!

Re: Hartmann RAM '92 [Swiss carbon E-stay]

How about some nice Maguras especially in fluorescent yellow?

Re: Hartmann RAM '92 [Swiss carbon E-stay]

I have only just spotted this thread.

I considered buying a Hartmann Ram back in 93 / 94. They must have had a UK distributor as I have an original brochure, which is scanned and in the archive.

My other choice at the time was the HOTTA, made in Newton Abbot, Devon, just down the road from me.

Unfortunately, I could never find sufficient funds for either bike.

There is so little on the web about Hartmann, I did wonder if any of the carbon bikes were ever produced, and this is the first one I have seen (which is one more than the number of HOTTA mtb's I have seen). I will be interested to see how it turns out.

I love Pace forks, but it would be a shame to replace the original forks imo, so I'm sticking with this one :)
