1992 Kona Lavadome (finished pics page 4)

So ratty Orange will be going to a new owner and this was going to be another to go on the list but with no more frame size boxes i may aswell build it up. It won't be escaping the cull because i have a full bike box so it will be up for sale at the end of the build.
Some people may be shocked to hear i'm going to sell a Kona but although these are great bikes i have had two in the past but i really need to start on the one off Konas i've had planned for ages, i think there'll be six in total.

First photo shows how it was when i bought it nothing special just a nice condition 92 Lavadome with bar the shifters and brake levers it had crap parts.
I've stripped it down checked it out and it's all good, so a clean and polish and it's looking good again.
Plans for the build i'm not sure, the black STX cantilevers arrived today and there going on so let's see where some cantilevers take this build.
First up though a bit of retro ocd, i can't have a scruffy screw holding the cable guide on so i've put a new screw in there, phew

Same for the brake cable guide with the rusty bolt,can't have that.

Looks to be a 92 Lavadome aswell, one will pop up eventually. I'll keep an eye out for one and let you know.

Fitted the original stem and bars again and starting to try some parts i've got lying around and probably going to stick with the black Deore LX just need to find a matching front mech. Put the original wheels back on but i do have some black hubbed Deore LX wheels which would suit it better. Keeping the saddle on can't remember what make it is but it's new. Tyres

The frame colour really pops with Blackwall tyres and the black forks.

You have the same seat post clamp that I have. It’s really clunky, in my view, with the massive quick release lever. I think they were only fitted to the 1992 bikes.
I’ve been trying to find a more svelte replacement. Tried a couple of eBay clamps but neither a 30.5mm or 28.6mm fit. I don’t fancy paying 30 odd quid for a 1993onwards Kona clamp… but might have to go that route.

Cheers JCS and yes that lever on the clamp is a bit big that's why it's best kept on the other side sort of out the way lol
Tried a set of wolber titanium wheels with the black Deore LX hubs and some amber wall continentals, still not sure
