Freewheel feels stodgy?

how do you know it doesnt need one - if the freehub body was moving freely with a shimano cassette and now no longer moving freely with the SRAM cassette....?

The aluminium spider on the SRAM cassette is a narrower fit and may need a slim spacer before you place it on the hub

Heres a 990 cassette and theres a little recess in the aluminium cage that can end up hitting the hub lip

That’s the one I’ve got. But as I said, it is moving freely.

you said it felt stodgy after fitting the SRAM?

Yes, but when I took it off, I found the freewheel was stodgy, and that it just needed a clean, which I did, and now it’s running smoothly
