FALCON - PMS 753

That is some find, nice one.

Have you dropped the forks out to see if there is a 'frame' number on the steerer?

Matt

Hi Marshalllucky

Have you still got the PMS frame and do you still use it? I would be interested to hear what you eventually decided.

Hi, Thanks for your interest in this old post . After I`d got the build finished I used the bike occasionally during the summer of 2017 only on dry days mind ! . I`d spent ages studying every photo I could find from the pages of `Cycling` from 1989 ( I bought the whole years editions on ebay ! ) and concluded it was probably Keith Reynolds bike. Anyway as is the case for many on here I always have a couple of projects on the go and decided to move it on to make space and fund other builds. I found an appreciative buyer who I seem to recall had some connection to Falcon ( I think he had worked there and still lived close to the old factory site ) Funny thing is the following year I located a Banana Falcon 753 ex team frame ( there should be a thread on here about it ) and the same chap bought it , I dont think he`s active on any forums but he was a great guy and a real Falcon enthusiast. I`ve put the last photo of the PMS before I sold it and I have to say I kind of regret selling it now ! .I did try and contact Keith Lambert who ran the PMS and Banana teams via his shop email but never got a reply :-( and saying that apologies to all for not finishing this thread earlier

Hi Matt, Just purchased a 'Raleigh' frame off ebay painted up in Castorama colours but sold as an 80s Veloce. It certainly isn't a Veloce and having looked at some of the posts here i'm now thinking that it's probably a Falcon not a Raleigh. It looks very similar to the post with a Falcon PMS picture. What should I look for to work out what it is? I'm probably keen to get it back to it's original colour scheme, under the very poor white paint job it has some black paint on the bottom bracket shell. Thanks for any assistance! Mike

I also found some pictures online which look similar and the correct colour
