Donnay Carbon(io) Pro 8000

Re: Donnay Carbon Pro 8000 (it's an Alan, honest!)

progress marches glacially onwards..

saddle finally turned up, I love it..

struggling hugely trying to sort this front wheel out and this morning, success!

The axle I had sent over from Spinergy themselves was imperial pitch and I could not find anything to fit, let alone what to do about shoulders/spacers. a good friend I work with (also on here) offered to see what he could do with it, so Monday night I brought in the wheel.

This morning this was waiting for me...

amazing!

still waiting on funds for cabling and tape :(

Re: Donnay Carbon Pro 8000 (it's an Alan, honest!)

absolutely no idea!

talking with DA-EVO, and reading his thread on this bike, plus a few other t'interweb forums the general consensus is that these were pushed out around the early 90's as a way of getting rid of late 80's frames?

Re: Donnay Carbon Pro 8000 (it's an Alan, honest!)

Cabled this up on Saturday night with the help of Klein-mad-Chris, but have yet to experience either daylight or dryness enough to photograph it.

front wheel is on and running v smoothly, a little more shaved off the seatpost as i'm only little plus a new BB on order as the campy cranks don't sit too happy on the JIS one in there currently.

that said, i took it for a short spin in the drizzle and whilst it doesn't accelerate too fast, it gets up to speed very nicely and feels fast once you're there and is incredibly comfortable to ride, even more so than my 753 CX bike running mid/low pressure tyres...

Looking neat Max, wil you be riding it for DA-EVOs road ride in April ?

Bugger !
You're gonna fly away from me then , unless I ride a road bike that's less retro , as I don't have any old ones :(
Next on the list then

I wouldn't worry about retro or not Mike
