Converting PC format .psd to Mac format

Yeh think this Mac designer is on the verge of being next to useless.

http://www.gimp.org/ is a photo editing software that opens psd files although never used a mac for anything more than replacing a screen on one so no idea how good it is on it, but should allow you to carry the file format between the 2 operating systems and allow editing if the mac hasnt got photoshop on and as mentioned earlier if photoshop on mac technically i would assume it would work and convert automatically

You would think, but newer version's of the PSD format will not open (properly anyway) on older PSD format's

The same way opening v9 PDF in V5 Acrobat Reader doesn't work very well..

the same way opening newer .doc in very old word doesn't work...
