Any suggestions as to a place to stay on 11th, somewhere near Gatwick? I had planned to go to Brighton that evening, but that gig fell through, so now I would like to stay nearer London, but not IN London.

Anywhere but Crawley!

If you want to stay pretty near Gatwick, then I've heard Langshott Manor hotel is pretty decent. Only a short cab ride away: http://www.alexanderhotels.co.uk/langsh ... el-surrey/

If you're planning on heading more in to London, stop before you get to Croydon!

As a mountain biker arriving in Gatwick and then wanting to move onto London I would look for somewhere along the North Downs probably near Dorking. From that area you have good road options and rail links into London's Waterloo station.

However, knowing that I would be then traveling west to Dorset I might look for somewhere west of London with good London rail links yet fairly close to the M25 and M3, like Beaconsfield or Amersham in the Chilterns. If this option is of interest I should be able to recommend somewhere to stay as I know lots of people who live in this area.

i've booked my ticket for Charlie's day at Charlie the Bike Monger, anyone else going?

I'll be there Jonnyboy. Long time no see.
Well, I'm booked up for London. Arriving stylishly by Brompton (as long as my ribs and shoulder hold up). Any chance of a Boris Bike ride with Charlie and Joe!?

Re:

Anybody here from the north west going to Clitheroe? Mr Duke & myself are booked in but it still appears to be a good few tickets left.

Re:

Less than 24 hours until I get on the plane. Looks like I will be in London for a couple of nights. Joe arrives on the 12th, we speak on the 13th, then off to Swanage.
