Bianchi Martini Racing Titanio Team 1997

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini Racing Megatube

Yes Thanks - Even though I quite like the FRM in black even though it doesn’t coordinate colour wise
I bought champagne/silverish matching Ritchey WCS from Roly - thanks mate!
The black FRM Seatpost is now going to be in the sale thread!

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini Racing Megatube

Quick update
Elite bottle cage - nice vintage Celeste one as found on these bikes from the era - arrived from Italy and fitted with green screws on the frame

Ritchey WCS Pro champagne Seatpost!

Now I hope it looks so much better - just awaiting two decals and finished

Weight is 21 lbs

After replacing the freehub body - out for a ride.

I can’t be sure whether I like the look or not. The FRM Ritchey WCS theme may need replacing

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini Racing Megatube

Well seem to have finished the build

Purely in terms of aesthetics
I was wondering whether Tan Wall smoke and dart
tyres would look better
Combined with matching XTR M960 front mech
Shorter FRM Web stem

Any thoughts ?

Looking good my friend...
Thanks bro
I’m still not happy with the look - I’m not a fan of Red - even though I’ve got some FRM Ti skewers (in anodised red) on the way.

I’m dilly dallying over the look constantly -

I ended up purchasing some Vittoria Geax race tyres (400g) and some IRC Mythos XC amberwall.(The Vittoria are not only very light but also Italian - so would suit the Italian scheme) so will try both

I added the missing decals too. The Titanium one - the Columbus one and also a Bianchi chain stay protector and made in Italy tricolor (not shown as just stick it on today)

I’ve the same FRM forks on their way - but in black and silver - so may play with the colour scheme - as I’ve a black FRM seat post and Black 90mm Web Stem - with these plus a black FRM/Ritchey bars it’ll look quite different.

The other thing is whether I should get a FM to match the rear XTR M960.

All just meddling but would appreciate some thoughts - I know it’s only a bike and rides nice but aesthetically I’m not happy

Re:

I think it would be worth giving tan walls a go. They look more elegant than the current tyres and the frame is definately elegant  Saddle wise I feel the red doesn't suit the build. Wether the official saddle would be too similar in colour it would be hard to say but it would be nice for you to have the opportunity to try( I am keeping my eyes peeled for you), maybe try a lighter coloured saddle and see.
It's worth persevering with the small details as this is such a lovely build it deserves the right look.

Thanks for the suggestions - I’m going to give each set of tyres a go - I agree that amber wall would make it look more elegant. These came originally with Ritchey WCS and the Michelin Wildgrippers in green.
I am thinking which flite Ti colour would suit - the actual team saddle is expensive to buy now but it does match the frame

I use this team bike as a benchmark

If I could make the below more like the team bike above then that would be ideal- when I say like it I don’t mean components or colour - I mean giving it that sleek thoroughbred race look.

Re: Bianchi Reparto Corse Ti Martini Racing Megatube

FRM z-way CNC forks - sewing as I’ve a black seat post already - with this and the stem there’ll be a darker look. Not sure - I think the forks will be put on as I’m not keen on red -
Black (same as my red ones) 1.3kg

FRM Web Stem - black 10cm

Re:

I think a lower stem angle would help, loving the colour matched ITM stem. The team saddle does look good but £200  A lighter coloured Flite would look good.
