…loosely 100 grams lighter to just one XTR m950 rear hub. I cannot help but wonder about longevity. Do you know of wear or reliability issues with these hubs you chose? Are spare bearings generic and easy to find and replace?

Your build here is making me reassess some short term goals.

I’ve an FRM rear hub on my Bianchi Martini racing (on my signature) - and after nearly 3 years of riding it’s still fine! Smooth and lovely. Haven’t needed to even service it !

They made both road and moutain bike hubs. Here's some road ones:

2006 FRM FL-R Team hubs. 32h shimano compatible. Very lightweight. FRM are like the King of Italy and these are beautifully made. FRM Ti skewers. Brand new in box. SOLD

I agree, I have also a set of Ritchey WCS road hubs NIB made from FRM.
