Personally, I'd still rather have a steel frame from a bloke in a shed in rural Italy or darkest Manchester but there you go!

Definitely with you there (although it's probably as much about pride of ownership or wanting to be a bit different as it is about a notionally superior product).

Oh, and the gentleman in the shed probably needs a beard and few social skills to be really 'authentic'. Lack of a website would help too.
