sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know the correct seatpost diameter for a '98 cindercone? Bikepedia gives it for years up to '97 annoyingly!

I'd be pretty certain it was still 27.0, I don't think the tubeset differed from the 97 frame.

I would have guessed 117mm as well, but like you say Anthony, no arguing with GF. 113 it is! Problem solved.

But that GF has a 35mm seat tube, so it may be using the longer alternative bottom bracket. My recollection is that these normally take a 107-110mm bb on a non-oversized frame. I could be wrong, of course.

The '95 Kilauea seatpost is definitely 27.0mm though.

edit: this RaceFace Taperlock manual says 110 or 113, so the shorter option would make sense on a steel Kona:
