Just started a complete overhaul on my 1990 kona cinder cone not been an easy job so far as most the parts have been on the bike 20 years since it was first built.
I want to keep as many original parts a possible but will have to fit a new chain set because it is broken and worn out along with the front derailleur as the adjustment screws snapped off in the body. (Even after a week soaking in solvent).
It was hit and miss if i would have to scrap the frame as the bottom bracket was stuck but managed to weld a socket on and undo it with a 3 foot breaker bar.
I was only going to respray the rusty parts but as that's most of it i may have the frame and forks chemically stripped and completely re spay white. then I will have the fun of redoing the splatter paint and sorting out the original decals.
I hope it turn out OK i will post some pictures when i sort out my camera.
