1989 Raleigh 531c Race.

Your very welcome Andy and i'm pretty sure my saddle will take me by surprise when i've sorted it and i'll be using a suede brush on mine before i dye it ...

Truing wheels argh! , i'm absolutely hopeless at it so i will be getting a spoke tension checker if that's the correct name for it ..

Seatpost sorted. One on left came with bike and would need a lot of work. One on right came from the parts bin. Gave it a quick polish and detailed with paint.

What are those stems off as they look really familiar but i can't just place them and what size are they as i may just be interested in the one your not using .

I quite like the paint touch up you've done on that stem mate although i can't be sure but i think i remember seeing those stems with red detailing back in the 80s ..

SR laprade they were pretty common on Raleighs in the 80s. They're 27.2mm.

Thanks mate i do remember seeing them on Raleighs back in the 80's now that you've mentioned it  ..

Gave the derailleurs a clean. Swapped the fittings on the front one as they had corroded. Had a near nos rear I was saving for a project that'll probably not happen so I put that on.

Bikes done and test ridden. Think I need a longer stem and I'm considering a 8 speed rear wheel as I've got some new shifters and the wheels on there at the mo aren't strictly period. Apart from that all good. Went on a trip to Wollaton hall and triumph road to get some outdoors pics.
