7 speed cassettes - any lightweight top end ones ever ?

Well, The old 7 speed cassettes I have are bricks and been tough trying to find a Tioga/Real/Goldtec/SRP 7 speed HG cassette with NO luck.

Looking at new stuff, I see the HG41 weighs in at around 235g
But the HG50 looks heavier, as hasn't the drilled bits and as much cut aways.
The SRAM PG730 doesn't look too bad, but probably weighs more.

What could I or should I go for in regards light weight and good performance out of these three?

Yea - remove one of the cogs as suggested. In fact I think it's the smaller cogs that are steel so removing one will satisfy your inner weight weenie.

1.2mm across the block, you don't count the first cog, only 6 shifts.

Only .6mm if you set up perfectly on the middle sprocket!
