Had a nice regular bottle of Jim Beam over Christmas it was good with American ginger ale and ice
The bottles of Highland Park ,Dalwinnie and Laphroaig were also ...nice

And too good to sip with anything other than water or just ice

My grandfather and I used to do that thing, mark the bottle and promise, there and no further.

My problem was I saw the mark from the bottom as well as the top.

Haven't touched the stuff in 25 years (don't ask). I'm more of a bourbon drinker, Blanton's Single Cask being my weapon of choice.

twenty years on i can still taste it on the way back out

I once at a bar, many moons ago, thought I'd try whisky and ask the bartender what he'd recommend and he said Southern Comfort, I tried it and thought that's not whisky so tried Jack Daniels and enjoyed it. I drink the stuff sometimes at Christmas but if I'm going to have whisky it has to be neat
