does anyone know where to find some new tweeters for my Sterling point 5 speakers?

one tweeter is distorted so id like to replace them. the speakers are 23 years old so i'd rather fix them than throw them out, and im after a pair because id like them to match. also there are 3.5" between the screw holes

thanks in advance

I doubt the tweeters in those are particularly high end, replace in pairs.

Take them out and check the impedance rating on the back, it's probably 8ohm so something like these will do.

If you have a bit more cash to spare look for tweeters branded Vifa, Peerless or Audax which will probably give you a little more detail.

like chain rings, theres a bolt circle diameter that means other tweeters will fit the covers of yours, measure and replace from maplin or such like.

I might have spares.

Not to be rude though, there are litterally hundreds of speakers at or above your quality available for a few pounds upwards.

these are copies of much more expensive models and should do the job:

thinking about it, if you are prepared to send them to me, I can repair them.
music'll sound funny without them for a while though.

Might cost you a retro part or something.

the tweeters have been replaced at some point in the past. (the old original ones were square, but they were cut from the middle leaving a plate, then the new ones were glued in place) the ones in the picture were from maplins, but the truoble is that they came distorted from the store  they are 25 watts each so i dont see the power being too much off a problem

thanks for the help but i think you may have the wrong link, if you could find some matching spares i could buy off you (or swap for some bike bits), that would be great

measure the bolts where the tweeter attaches to the trim ring (the bit that fixes to the speaker cabinet), these are usually very close.

This means you can use the gubbins from the new tweeter behind the bits of the old tweeter.
