It's back (titanium repair content)...It's back again!

Re: Ooo...I just remembered

Was it around the seat post/stays ? Have you fitted a longer shim ?
Wouldn't mind seeing pics if you remember to get it back.

Re:

The crack was in the welding where the downtube meets the headtube. It will interesting to see the repair...hope it's not too double bubble

Excellent! What are they going to do? Weld on top of the weld?

Presumably CTK, and a spot of purging and brushing of the frame to clean it up. Cost £90. But I haven't had the bill yet!

Re:

When I saw that crack I thought it was unrepairable so little room in between top tube and down tube. Also thought a Ti repair would be more than £90. Fingers crossed it looks alright.

Re:

Just had a very prompt email back saying the frame has been repaired...and they are just preparing an invoice for me :-(

Looking forward to seeing the result!

Re:

Mmm...I don't think I am very happy

The weld has been drill stopped at each end of the crack, followed by quite a neat weld...it certainly isn't a bubble gum weld. But shouldn't they have filled the drill holes?

What are your thoughts?

And part of the quote including cleaning the frame...which has not been done.

Once I clean it and apply new decals it will look nice again though. I guess this should be my project although I was looking for a fancy steel frame
